Job Summary: All Star Directories is looking for a creative, strategic, self-directed senior product manager to manage the end-to-end business for a number of our key Websites and to provide the long-term strategic planning both for those businesses and the company. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating vision and strategic plans as well as for managing the details of the business. This position will be fully accountable for achieving revenue and profitability goals. Success here means being able to help set the strategy and goals for the traffic and sales teams, as well as focusing on creating a best-of-breed user experience. You should have experience creating first-class, revenue-generating products by working with program management and engineering to develop them from conception through launch. You will need to manage multiple cross-functional teams and you should have experience bringing organization to complexity in a fast-moving environment, be comfortable with ambiguity, and have the proven ability to influence others. To be a successful candidate, you should possess a unique blend of business savvy and core understanding of Website operations and the Internet services landscape (video, search, blogging, mobile, SEO, etc); you should be able to craft and communicate a vision for your sites, and have the drive to make that vision a reality. Specifics include analyzing and defining customer needs, creating segmentation strategies, finding new business opportunities, working with development teams on product requirements, defining product positioning and pricing, and leading go-to-market efforts all within the high growth space of online marketing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Drive the revenue for up to three of our core websites
- Define revenue opportunities for your businesses and prioritize the work necessary to execute these projects and/or execute against projects individually
- Independently manage user interface design and user experience by conducting usability testing
- Beyond your core businesses, independently develop broad new initiatives across groups, sites, or the company: manage requirements definition, conduct research, define success (metrics analysis) and, with program management, drive technical specifications, development, testing, and launch efforts
- Provide the necessary leadership to enable others to scale your successes
- Design and implement customer segmentation strategy and define customer personas through analyses of key customer needs and trends
- Translate customer research into specific Website feature requirements or large, programmatic areas of opportunity
- Help to set the strategy and goals for lead demand-generation (SEO, SEM, e-mail, and other sources), pricing, and site content by working cross-functionally with the traffic and sales teams
REQUIREMENTS - 4+ years of product management or related marketing management experience; online marketing experience highly desired
- Undergraduate degree in marketing or business or equivalent experience. MBA preferred
- Successful experience defining and driving the cross-functional activities necessary to support best-of-breed product offerings
- Marketing research and competitive analysis skills
- Superior understanding of online best practices and user experience
- Strong project management skills
- Experience collaborating with external customers and third-party partners
- Ability to think strategically about customers, business issues, and the overall market
- Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize
- Sound business judgment and proven ability to influence others
- Exceptional creative, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in independently conducting and analyzing market and customer research
